A slow little wander about

Going from The Pyrenees to The Alps I decided to take it easy, since long days just weren’t in the cards until my ribs got better.  I took small country roads to the coast and then followed them up towards Marseilles.  I can honestly say that the whole area did nothing for me.  The riding was average (at best) and it was nothing but cheesy resort towns where instead of naming the seedy hotels after places in the Mediterranean like they do in The States, they name them after places in The States- Florida Hotel, Palm Springs Hotel, etc.

I then headed northish to Avignon- more boring riding, but the city itself was cool to walk around in.  After a couple of days in Avignon I felt ready for some proper riding again and headed towards the mountains.  My ribs were sore, but I could ride and any more time in cities or lousy roads would have killed me.  Ah well, I guess that will teach me to be a little more careful, huh?
